The ABS estimates the Swan SA3 area had 181,249 residents in 2025, up 6,966 in a year, the second-largest increase by number of any SA3 in Greater Perth. Guildford was founded in 1829 as one of the earliest settlements of the Swan River Colony, and it is one of only three towns in the metropolitan area on the National Trust register.
