For home and business glass: windows, doors, shopfronts, shower screens. Not car windscreens.
Short answer: make the area safe, photograph the damage before you move anything, and talk to your insurer before paying for temporary repairs if you plan to claim. Then send a request and we pass it to one local glazing business. We are a referral service, not a glazier.
What should I do tonight if glass breaks?
Keep people and pets away, put on closed shoes, and leave loose shards in the frame. Call 000 if anyone is hurt. Photograph the damage before cleaning up, then request a glazier to board up or replace the glass.
If anyone is hurt, or a crime is in progress, call 000. For a break-in that has already happened, WA Police take reports on 131 444 or online. Moneysmart says to take photos and video before you move anything, and to talk to your insurer before you spend money on temporary repairs. Our step-by-step guide is broken window: what to do now.

Can a glazier come out after hours in Perth?
Some Perth glaziers take after-hours call-outs, often to make the opening safe and board it up overnight. Our referral team calls you back and puts you in touch with a local glazier, who tells you whether and when they can attend; we don't promise response times.
Choose Tonight on the form if the opening isn't secure, and say so in the notes.
What happens if the replacement glass isn't in stock?
The opening is usually boarded up first and the new glass fitted later. Glazewell says non-stock glass is typically installed within 24–72 hours of an overnight board-up, and double-glazed units take longer because they are made to measure.
Glazewell describes the sequence on arrival as: secure the opening, remove the broken glass, measure, board up if the glass isn't available, then come back to install. Which glass goes back in, and whether a crack could be left, are covered in laminated vs toughened glass and repair or replace window glass.
Who do I call if a storm breaks my windows?
If storm damage leaves your home unsafe and you can't secure it, DFES says to call the SES on 132 500. SES volunteers answered 1,056 storm calls between June and October 2024, mostly for roof and structural damage, fallen trees and water getting in.
Once the home is safe, the broken glass itself is a job for a glazier. Photograph the damage first if you plan to claim; see broken window insurance claims.
One request goes to one local glazing business, which contacts you; the quote is free and any contract is with them. How referrals work · Perth areas
